New Castle Does a Half-Year Recap

Town looks back on the first half of 2012.

This year has been eventful in New Castle so far. To coincide with the half-way mark for 2012, the town published a recap on its website.

Highlights include:

A mild winter saving about $100,000 in salt costs and about $85,000 in plowing costs

A growth in adult recreation programs (69 in 2011, versus just 24 in 2007)

The town's

A Westchester Municipal Planning Federation award for the town's renovation to the South Greeley parking lot, which came in under budget.
