Westchester County Projects Worth $1 Billion, 12,000 Jobs: Legislators

From airport improvements to bridge repair, Westchester County has a big list of projects and the Board of Legislators has a tool to help you keep track.

There are 379 active capital projects in Westchester County—work being done on everything from roads to sewers, according to the Board of Legislators.

According to statistics from the BOL, that's $1.17 billion worth of public works.  And the number of jobs created by those projects: 12,104.

The information is available to the public on the BOL's Capital Projects Dashboard. Created in February, the Dashboard is designed to allow county residents to track the progress of public works projects.

This interactive tool allows users to track the progress of all open capital projects approved by the Board of Legislators. These projects are in varying stages of completion. Some are “in progress,” while others are “delayed” or the legislators have not been furnished with information about their progress; others have simply been stopped by the Astorino Administration. Each project displays its status, legislative information, the date passed, a description, the amount requested for each bond and which department is in charge of the work. This page will be updated regularly to reflect changes in the progress of each project.
