Bedford BOE: Budget Hearing, Tenure Vote

The Bedford Central School District's board meeting starts tonight at 8 p.m. at Fox Lane Middle School.

The Bedford Central School District's Board of Education will hold a hearing tonight on its proposed 2013-14 budget, which is up for a public vote on May 21.

The budget is $125,057,000, includes a tax levy increase of 3.37 percent and project tax rate hikes of 4.56 for Bedford, 0.68 percent from Mount Kisco, 2.30 percent for New Castle, 5.51 percent for North Castle and 3.07 percent for Pound Ridge. Also on the agenda is a vote for the school board to grant tenure to 12 teachers, including eight from Fox Lane High School, two from Pound Ridge Elementary School, four from Mount Kisco Elementary School, and one each from Bedford Hills and Bedford Village elementary schools.
