Bedford Central School District Board of Education Candidates Announced

Kumar, Marino, decline to run, Long to seek full term.

Two incumbent members of the Bedford Central School District Board of Education will not be running while a third will seek a term, according to a list of candidates that filed by the deadline, which passed Monday afternoon at 5 p.m.

Members Paula Kumar of Bedford Corners and Donna Marino of Bedford will vacate their seats, while incumbent and Pound Ridge resident Erika Long will seek a full term.

Long was appointed to the board this past November to fill a vacancy. She will run unopposed.

Three incumbents' seats are up for new three-year terms each. The terms will run from July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2013.

Running for Kumar's seat are Jennifer Gerken and Michael Solomon of Bedford. Mount Kisco resident Suzanne Grant is running unopposed for Marino's seat.
