Chappaqua School Board Honors This Year's Tenure Recipients

Faculty and staff finish probationary years.

The Chappaqua school board honored 33 teachers and administrators Tuesday by granting them tenure. The annual event was preceded by a reception and including having faculty stand for rounds of applause as they were called during the meeting.

"We are saying congratulations and we are saying thank you," said school board President Janet Benton.

Interim Superintendent John Chambers noted that the employees, on probationary status for 2-3 years, went through a "rigorous" routine that included evaluations and conferences.
