Chappaqua Schools to Reopen Tuesday for Students

Power returns to all school buildings, Superintendent Lyn McKay announces.

(Editor's Note: Below is a Sunday evening update from Chappaqua schools Superintendent Lyn McKay. She announced that power has returned to all schools in the district and that students will be able to go to school starting on Tuesday):

Dear Faculty and Staff,
The good news is we have power in all schools. We will have a Superintendent's Conference Day tomorrow, Sept. 5.  We will have school for all students on Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Tomorrow, teachers should report to the schools as outlined in yesterday's message. That is
-- All elementary teachers report to Grafflin.
-- All middle school teachers report to Seven Bridges.
-- All high school teachers report to Greeley.

Principals will give staff details for the day at the faculty meetings, which they are holding at the start of the day.

We have one change and one clarification.  All clerical staff should go directly to their buildings. Any staff who report to school only when students are in attendance (e.g., clerical session employees and aides) need NOT report to school tomorrow. If there are any staff we particularly need, we may reach out to you in person.

Also, for those faculty and staff who have lost access to their usual child care and who are unable to make alternative arrangements, you may bring your children.

I hope you are able to stay warm.  Take care.  Lyn
