Reptiles and Turtle Monitoring

Join us as we learn about the fascinating group of animals called reptiles.  We will meet our resident reptiles and learn about life histories, unique characteristics and feeding habits.  We will also discuss the need for conservation of these special animals.

Each spring and summer we trap and release water turtles as part of our on-going turtle monitoring project.  Learn about and take part in our effort to collect data from the painted and snapping turtles living in Bechtel Lake.

We will meet in the museum for the reptile portion of our program and then hike down to the lake.  The Hike portion will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.  All ages welcome.  FREE.
