The Turn to the Native: A Symposium on Native American Studies in Honor of Professor Arnold Krupat

Dr. Arnold Krupat's scholarship has been central to the development of Native American Studies for more than two decades; his numerous publications have in particular shaped our understanding of Native American literatures of the United States. This year will see the publication of his latest book, That People Might Live, a study of Native American elegy, as well his retirement from teaching. This symposium will present current research in the field of Native American Studies by a group of international scholars in celebration of Dr. Krupat's continuing achievement.  A reception in honor of Dr. Krupat will follow the 2 p.m. second session.
