Graduation Rates For Horace Greeley, Fox Lane Released

The 4-year graduation rate was in the 90-percent range at both schools.

The New York State Education Department has released its findings showing the 4-year graduation rates for 2009. Both Fox Lane High School and Horace Greeley High School were given good marks.

At Fox Lane, among the class that started 9th grade in 2005, 91 percent graduated within four years in 2009, either receiving a Regents Diploma or a Local Diploma. Four percent were listed as still being enrolled and one percent transfered to a GED program. Three percent dropped out.

At Horace Greeley, 98 percent of the 2005 9th grade cohort graduated in four years and finished with a Regents or Local Diploma. Two percent were still enrolled, while the GED transfer and drop out percentages were both at zero.

Both high schools were above the statewide level for four-year graduation, which was close to 72 percent.

Data for both schools is on page 119 of the report, and is listed by school district instead of by high school name.
