Photos: Japanese Diplomat Visits Seven Bridges

Shigeyuki Hiroki thanked people for a May fundraiser held to benefit Japan in the wake of the March earthquake and tsunami.

Students at were treated to a visit on Tuesday by Shigeyuki Hiroki, who is the Counsel General of Japan in New York. Hiroki came to thank students and receive $3,474.10 raised to raise relief money to help the country recover from its March earthquake and tsumani.

That concert was organized by Kazuko and Shunzo Ohno.

"I believe in the power of community," Kazuko Ono told Patch in a recent interview. "We want to be together in friendship and support of this disaster and by doing that we strengthened our own community and expanded our own lives."
