Seven Bridges Middle School students get to show off their art work.

Students at Seven Bridges Middle School got a chance Wednesday night to show their artwork to their parents and the school community as part of the second-annual art gala.

The night included an array of unique drawings and sculptures from students across the grades.

"I think it's part of Seven Bridges and it's here to stay," said Principal Martha Zornow.

Work from Emma Cashman, an eighth grader at the school, was picked for the gala's program cover and as a promotional image.

"It's really exciting," she said, adding that she felt honored to be chosen.

"I think it was a success," said Zack Arnold, who serves as an art teacher at Seven Bridges and at Horace Greeley High School. He felt that seeing students, parents and teachers seeing art, talking about it and for students explaining it was "amazing to see."

Jaime Hellman, whose son Noah was among those with artwork displayed, felt it's important for kids to understand how much art influences so many other things in their lives. He also felt that the show allows for the kids to share their artistic abilities.
