Amid widespread devastation in northern Westchester County from Hurricane Sandy, local schools have announced plans to close for the remainder of the week.
Notices sent out Wednesday by both the Chappaqua and Bedford Central school districts stated that their schools will remain shuttered for Thursday and Friday, meaning that both communities will have gone a whole week without reopening.
Meanwhile, a scheduled SAT testing date for Saturday at Horace Greeley High School, has been postponed until Nov. 17, the district announced. An SAT testing date for Saturday at Fox Lane High School has also been postponed, although Bedford Central did not given a new date in its announcement.
