School Board Backs Corsilia as Interim Greeley Assist. Principal

English teacher will temporarily fill the position of Mark Bayer, who is leaving to become Somers High School principal.

Chappaqua's school board has picked Andrew Corsilia to serve as an interim assistant principal for .

The temporary appointment, made at the Tuesday board meeting, fills a vacancy being left by Mark Bayer, who is . Corsilia, an English teacher at Greeley, will fill the job from July 1 to June 30, 2013, the entirety of the upcoming school year.

Greeley has three assistant principal positions.

“We are delighted that you are joining the administrative team this coming year," said Superintendent Lyn McKay. "I know that your kids in English will miss you, but I’m sure you’ll be close by.”

Meanwhile, McKay announced that the district is preparing to interview candidates for vacant assistant principal positions at and elementary schools. She told the board that recommendations could be made by its June 19 meeting.
