Thursday's Coaches vs. Cancer Volleyball Tournament raised $1,355 and had 65 people participating, according to organizer Joe Racioppo, with multiple school districts participating. He said: "These school districts have repeated passion their passion by taking the time and showing support, its been a pleasure to continue the fight with such giving people."
A group of referees won, according to Racioppo. Other folks participating came from Greeley, Briarcliff, Pleasantville, Valhalla, Byram Hills and Putnam-Northern Westchester BOCES.
The tournament, which was the fifth-annual one, raised its money for the American Cancer Society, according to Racioppo, who was also an organizer of a JV tournament to help the group that raised $550 and was at Greeley.
