Use as many senses as you can when studying. The brain takes in information from our five senses. Try writing out notes and then reading them aloud. You are then using sight, hearing and touch (by writing) which will increase your chances of absorbing the material.

Think positive. By telling yourself you will never learn the material, it is too difficult, you don’t have enough time, etc you are setting yourself up to fail. Instead of putting that added pressure on yourself, be your own cheerleader. Remind yourself of the great grade you got on the last quiz, and think about all the steps you took to study for the current one. If you really get stuck, talk to your teacher. He is there to teach and help you learn. Most teachers welcome the opportunity and appreciate your willingness to approach them for extra help.
