Brownie Troop Gives $500 to Chappaqua Library for Museum Passes

Money will pay for attending Museum of Natural History.

Girls from the local Brownie Troop 2757 donated $500 in bake sale proceeds to the .

The donation, made earlier this week, will go towards paying for museum passes that the library gives out for attending the American Museum of Natural History, in New York City.

Library Director Pamela Thornton said "everybody can benefit from that."

Thornton voted the how far $500 went in cookies.

"That's a lot of cookies, by the way."

The girls in the troop also attend Douglas G. Grafflin Elementary School, Thorton said, and some just achieved Girl Scout status.

The gift to the library comes after the museum raised the cost of buying the passes, according to Thornton.
