9/11 Anniversary Events; Town Board to Vote on Conifer

Here is a preview of this week's events:

1. Mount Kisco and New Castle will each have 9/11 anniversary observances on Wednesday. New Castle's will be on Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the memorial at Gedney Park, the town announced. Mount Kisco's will be on Sept. 11 at 6:15 p.m. at the memorial at 100 Main St, the village announced.

2. The New Castle Town Board will vote Tuesday evening on whether to grant a special permit to Conifer Realty for its Chappaqua Station affordable housing plan. The special permit is the last major item for the board to decide on for the proposal. The town board's meeting will start at 8:15 p.m. at town hall in Chappaqua. 3. Tuesday is primary election day. Check back for more details.

4. The Mount Kisco Planning Board will meet on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at village hall.  Agenda items include continuing the public hearing for The Hearth at Mount Kisco. When the board last met in late August, some members were frustrated after learning that the project's developer is could potentially get a payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) agreement as a result of dealing with Westchester County's Industrial Development  Agency (IDA).

5. The Bedford Central school board will meet on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Fox Lane Middle School. Its agenda includes discussion about the district's proposed capital plan, which will be up for an Oct. 22 bond referendum. The meeting's agenda can be found here.
