Fox Lane Bowling Fundraiser: Town Board Organization Meeting

A busy week is ahead for New Castle and Mount Kisco:

1. The Fox Lane Sports Boosters Club announced that it's having a 24-hour Bowl-a-Thon, which is a fundraiser will be held on Friday at Grand Prix New York, starting at 6 p.m. More details are at this link.

2. The New Castle Town Board has its organization meeting scheduled for Wednesday night at 7:45 p.m. Major changes are set for action, based on the information in the meeting's packet. These include appointment of new Councilwoman Lisa Katz as deputy supervisor - she would replace Elise Kessler Mottel, who remains on the board - appointing Robert Kirkwood to a vacant planning board seat and making him chair, and having changes in town administrator and town clerk. 3. The New Castle Planning Board meets Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. (which is tonight), according to its agenda. The meeting was originally supposed to be held in December but the town announced its rescheduling due to snow. Agenda items include continuing review of the proposed cell tower along Route 128 and a work session, which will be for the Chappaqua Crossing retail proposal. The agenda is at this link.

4. The Mount Kisco Village Board of Trustees will meet on Jan. 6 at 7:30 p.m. (which is tonight), according to its agenda. Items include a public hearing for a proposed new contract with Cablevision. The agenda and its packet are at this link.

5. The New Castle Historical Society announced that it will hold its antiques lecture and appraisal series, which is scheduled to start on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Chappaqua Library. The series is the 10th-annual one, according to the historical society.

6. Several musical performances are scheduled this week for Fox Lane High School and Fox Lane Middle School. On Monday, an 8th-grade and high school band concert is set for 5:45 p.m. at the high school's theater, and on Thursday an orchestra concert is set for 7 p.m. at the same place.

7. West Patent Elementary School will have a pancake breakfast on Saturday at 9 a.m., according to this announcement from the school.

8. Westorchard Elementary School has family game night on Friday at 6 p.m., according to this announcement.
