Search and Rescue Operations Wind Down
Lynn University is unsure as to whether search and rescue operations have ended at the Hotel Montana site.
Born in India, and having grown up in the three continents of India, Europe and the U.S., I consider myself to be a true child of globalization. I became a journalist to get as close as possible to the heart of the world.
I have a master's degrees in International Studies from one of India's top liberal arts school as well as a graduate degree in Journalism from South Dakota State University. But I am a passionate autodidact.
In the last several years, I've worked as a print reporter in newsrooms across two continents—Asia and America . My reporting jobs have taken me from the streets of New Delhi, India, to the island of Sarawak , Malaysia , and from the prairies of the Midwest to the scenic hamlets of New England.
During the course of this voyage—both in geographical and professional terms—I've had the opportunity to cover a fascinating potpourri of stories ranging from municipal government, education, spot news, fine dining, culture, fashion, travel and everything in between.
I first came in touch with the town of Bedford as a freelancer for the weekly Bedford Record-Review, and was taken by its beauty and deep cultural shadow.
I am in Bedford full time now and I'm here to listen to your grievances, chronicle your glories, participate in your celebrations and investigate your dark alleys.
At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible and human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal certain key beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable.
This disclosure is not a license for our editors to inject these beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that our beliefs are on the record will force us to be ever mindful to write, report, and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you, the user, ever think you see evidence that we failed in this mission, we wholeheartedly invite you to let us know.
Politics:
How would you describe your political beliefs?
I believe in a politics that serves the interests of the majority and not the interests of a privileged few.
Religion:
How religious would you say you are? Casual, observant, devout, non-religious?
I am secular and believe that the divine resides in the interstices of human consciousness.
Local Hot Button Issues:
What do you think are the most important issues facing the community?
Affordable housing and environment.
Where do you stand on each of these issues?
A stand is always a work in progress. I would rather, listen to people and allow dialogues to pluralize my take on these issues, instead of formulating a stand unilaterally.
