Bio: I moved to Larchmont when I was 15 and graduated from Mamaroneck High School in 1999. Later on I received a bachelor's degree in Art History and Italian from SUNY Binghamton and a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University. I am now married to my job and I love it. I've worked at ForbesTraveler.com, MSNBC.com, and a few local weeklies, all in New York. Right before joining Patch I was living in Buenos Aires, producing video for the Argentine newspaper Clarin, taking daily doses of dulce de leche, and attempting to fulfill my childhood dream, to swim with whales. Both of my parents are half-Lebanese, which partly explains my fascination with the Middle East. My "adulthood" dream (one that doesn't involve diving in freezing temperatures) is to one day become an arts and culture correspondent in the Middle East.
Your Beliefs

At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable.

This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.

I am focusing on fully understanding them. Once I form an opinion, I might let you know.
