Maybe we should look at the process that has appointed 2 principals in the past few years who wereRead More later deemed unacceptable by BOE.

I find it particularly distressing that this all just recently came to the community's attention inRead More only the last few days, when obviously it's been an ongoing issue. Why the lack of communication? It just casts such a pall over this week's graduation...

"The board would only say an agreement has been reached between the board, Bartz and the unionRead More that includes confidentiality clauses." I am somewhat confused...if Mrs. Bartz signed this agreement with the Board and the union, which agreement must be kept confidential, then presumably she knows what allegation it contained, and why she was asked to resign. Part of her argument is that she has no knowledge of what she has done. If there was absolutely no validity to what prompted this agreement, why on earth would she sign it and resign? Why not refuse to settle and fight the allegations that brought it about ? It seems to me that she had the chance to "face her accusers" and chose to settle instead. And the Board allows her to save face by keeping it mum. If they breached that provision, like many wanted them to last night, they'd be sued for breach and the taxpayers would foot the bill. Moreover, whatever circumstances prompted this agreement with Dawn Bartz would be leaked out, and probably no one would hire her. So I'm not understanding why she's saying she doesn't know what she did, and why the community thinks it is in anyone's best interest to have the agreement divulged.

Abinanti was most helpful and supportive when We The People stopped the cell towers in 2011. Now ourRead More next project is actually doing something to prevent further closures of the Saw Mill River Pkwy whenever we get a sun shower.

The SMP in Pleasantville and Thornwood needs/has needed a elevated causeway similar to the one onRead More 684 north of exit 2 in Armonk but the pin-heads who run the DOT have no clue.

Thanks for posting this - sounds cool. What kind of projects will kids do? Also, can an incoming 6thRead More grader participate?
It's About Time June 6, 2013 at 01:45 pm
Hi Lisa! Thanks for your questions. In this unit (Vehicles In Motion) the kids will build CoasterRead More Cars and test different aspects of the motion of their vehicles such as: distance traveled, acceleration, straightness, and friction. This unit emphasizes student collaboration in order to develop a set of performance test procedures for measuring Coaster Car performance. An incoming sixth grader can definitely join! Feel free to call the number above - my co-worker will be happy to help you.
