League of Women Voters of New Castle Launches Voter Registration Drive

The League of Women Voters of New Castle is holding voter registration drives in Westchester in order to engage new voters before the November election. Along with more than 400 other organizations, the League is also participating in National Voter Registration Day on September 24th. The deadline to register to vote in New York State for this November’s election is October 11, 2013.

On Wednesday the New Castle League registered almost 50 voters at Westchester Community College. League volunteers will also be registering voters at the following locations:

•   New Castle Community Day  - Saturday, September 21th, 11 am - 4 pm

 

•   Chappaqua Starbucks - Tuesday, September 24th, 9 am - 5 pm

 

•   Millwood A&P - Tuesday, September 24th, 1:30 pm - 6 pm

In addition, New Yorkers can now register to vote and update their voter registration information online through the Department of Motor Vehicles website.

Applications for absentee ballots will also be available at the registration drives.  Applications for an absentee ballot must be mailed by October 29, 2013, and absentee ballots must be mailed by November 4, 2013. Details can be found on the LWV of New York website.
