Midterm Exam Prep Workshop Can Alleviate Test Stress

According to the U.S. Department of Education, test anxiety can significantly lower test scores. The level of student stress directly correlates to the ability to function and perform well on such exams. Research has found that the single best approach to reducing stress and increasing scores is advanced and structured preparation.

Students in Westchester will take midterm exams in January. Students can decrease stress and increase performance by starting to prepare for midterm exams now. To this end, the Chappaqua Learning Center is hosting a test-preparation workshop presented by S4, Successful Study Skills 4 Students. The 5 Steps to Test Success Workshop teaches high school students evidence-based skills and strategies that will decrease stress and increase performance.

Advanced studying and preparation is the best method students can use to do well on January’s midterm exams,” said Michelle Sagalyn, president of S4. “The S4 program provides students with the needed skills and strategies for enhanced learning and retention, increasing their abilities to do well not only on midterms, but for the rest of the academic year as well.”
