Temple Shaaray Tefila in Bedford Corners welcomes Larry Walker of the Jewish National Fund at our Friday, April 1st Shabbat Service. The program begins at 8:00 P.M. and will include a brief service followed by Mr. Walker’s talk regarding the reforestation of Israel after the devastating fire in December and other ongoing JNF projects.

The Jewish National Fund was established more than 100 years ago to establish the groundwork for the birth of Israel. JNF continues to make a commitment to the land and people in the 21st century. Today, JNF performs groundbreaking work to develop the land of Israel through a variety of multifaceted initiatives.

"Many of us remember those little blue Jewish National Fund boxes that we had in our homes. With our efforts a barren land was turned green," states Rabbi David Greenberg, Senior Rabbi of Temple Shaaray Tefila. "Come hear about the environmental successes and challenges facing Israel. They represent nothing less than our efforts to maintain our planet for healthy human habitation."
