Kirtan at Quest Yoga Arts

Kirtan with Noah Baumwoll Saturday September 27th 7-9pm at Quest Yoga Arts 11-13 East Main St. Mt. Kisco, NY

Kirtan with Noah Baumwoll

Come join us for a musical celebration of the season! Kirtan is the practice of call and response chanting with a devotional flair. If you love music and celebration, kirtan is for you! Everyone can participate - there are no prerequisites, no special talents or skills, and no religious beliefs or cultural backgrounds that are needed to take part in the kirtan experience. Bring the kids - they adore it!

Noah was called to the the path of Bhakti Yoga eight years ago while on the first of several trips to India. It was along the banks of the holy river Ganges that he felt a powerful feeling of “coming home” while chanting the ancient sanskrit mantras. From that experience, his love for yoga and devotional call and response chanting grew, making him a regular participant in weekly gatherings around the city. In addition to sanskrit mantras, Noah’s chanting is inspired by a life long passion for reggae music and Rasta culture as well as spiritual Judaism.
He is a founding member of Kirtan Rabbi, a kirtan group that chants Hebrew mantras, and has recorded on both of their albums. He also performs with Ananda Rasa, a traditional Hindu raga mixed with reggae kirtan group from California, who perform regularly in New York. He has recorded on Krishna Das’ latest album “Kirtan Wallah” as well as Prema Hara’s “Tears of Love” and “Ocean of Grace.”
In addition to leading kirtan, Noah is a Bhakti artist, creating welded steel sculptures and yoga inspired prints. His art will be on display during the kirtan and can be seen at www.noahart.com
