Summer Camp Stays Warm During the Winter with Annual Weekend Celebration

As snow and temperatures
begin to fall, the last thing on people's mind is summer camp! That is unless
you attend Southwoods Camp, one of the Northeast's premier traditional
sleep-away camps. Southwoods Summer Camp creates opportunities for new and
returning campers to enjoy the warmth of the summer camp all year long. On
January 24th, 2014 Southwoods campers will reunite for the 16th Annual Winter
Weekend celebration. The popular summer camp invites campers to spend a weekend
filled with good friends and lots of fun. Scott Ralls, Owner/Director of
Southwoods shared, "This delicious escape from the normal school year
pressures provides both our new and returning campers a taste of what the
summer is going to be like. We find it makes anticipation for the summer even
greater!" From the moment the deluxe video motor coaches roll out on
Friday evening from various metro NY/NJ areas, campers and staff work to create
and rekindle friendships. Upon arrival at The Great Escape Lodge in Lake
George, no time is wasted as everyone jumps into their bathing suits to enjoy
the amazing water park. After slip 'n' sliding down the water slides and
catching waves at the surf station, campers and staff all enjoy great snacks
and a special visit from some Looney Tunes guests. The next morning many of the
campers will head towards the slopes of Gore Mountain to enjoy a day of skiing,
while others will head to Southwoods Camp for some snowy fun! Once the group
arrives at Southwoods, located on pristine Paradox Lake, in the heart of the
Adirondack Mountains, snow ball fights and sledding are sure to happen! After
s'mores and hot chocolate are enjoyed, and the campfire is starting to burn
low, Southwoods will once again head back to the Lake George area for some
additional water park fun. On Sunday morning campers and staff will say goodbye
to the Adirondacks. As they head home, they stop for some great food and to
bowl a few frames at a great Rock and Bowl Bowling Alley. Camp parent Risa
Crandall shared, "Harrison and Ella look forward to the Southwoods' Winter
Weekend all fall; they don't stop talking about getting to be at the indoor
water-park with their Southwoods friends, snow skiing at Gore, the amazing
sledding at camp and how much fun they have tubing behind Scott's Red Ranger.
They have enjoyed it so much that their 8 year old sister will be joining them
this year!"

Southwoods Camp creates fun
and unique experiences all year round. They invite everyone to come play with
them this summer. For more information about all the programs Southwoods has to
