Chappaqua Turns ‘Pinkalicious’

More than 70 children's book authors descend on Robert Bell Middle School this Saturday.

Written by Julia Halewicz

All those nights spent reading and re-reading your kids’ favorite books before bedtime can be a blessing and curse, depending on how your day went. But one thing is certain – beloved children’s books make lifetime readers of your little ones.

Now you can thank the authors personally for your nightly ritual by attending the first Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival on Oct. 5 at the Robert Bell Middle School.

The event starts at 10 a.m. and includes personal appearances by more than 70 authors, many of whom will be reading excerpts from your kids’ favorite stories and signing books. “Pinkalicious” author Victoria Kann and “The Twelve Days of Christmas” author Susan Jeffers are among those attending.

While you’re there, buy a Pinkalicious cupcake from the Great America Bake Sale and help end childhood hunger.  The event runs until 4 p.m.
