8AM—The ban on commercial traffic on Interstate 84 remains in effect. Here is a statement from New York State Police:
State Police are advising motorists to use extreme caution if travel is necessary. Many roads remain snow covered and slippery. Interstate 84 in particular is snow covered and a hazard for commercial vehicles. The ban imposed on all commercial vehicles will remain until conditions improve. State Police will continue to monitor road conditions and consult with the State Department of Transportation and lift the ban as soon as road conditions improve.

7:20AM—Due to the inclement weather and poor road conditions, Eastchester school officials decided to close Feb. 14 rather than keep to the 3-hour delay announced last night.
Eastchester schools will now be open on Thursday, February 20 and Friday, February 21 to make up for the extra snow days.

The railroad's officials decided the limited service would work for them and commuters "due to the severe impact of the winter storm on our service territory and projected lower ridership." Here's the text of this morning's release:
- Route 6U-no service in the Uniontown area of Hastings. Bus will travel like the regular Route 6 using Broadway instead.
- Routes 8 & 32-avoiding Nodine Hill. Detour will travel on Nepperhan Ave. between Elm St. and Walnut St.
- Route 9-avoiding Walsh Rd, Vineyard Ave., and Father Finian Sullivan Sr. Bus travels on Palisades Ave., Ashburton Ave., Park Ave., and North Broadway instead.
- Routes 13 & 19-no service to the Ossining Railroad Station. Service will start and end at Spring St. and Waller Ave.
- Route 16-no service to Strawberry Rd. and Lexington Ave. Bus will operate on Rt. 6 instead.
- Route 30–no service on Stone Ave. and Fortfield Ave. Bus will travel on Lockwood Ave. and Mile Square Rd. instead.

- The PART System will resume normal operations Saturday February 15, 2014.
- All Putnam County Senior activities are canceled for Friday February 14, 2014. This includes Office For the Aging administrative offices.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) expects most Friday morning rush hour service to operate as planned, but heavy overnight snowfall may lead to further service changes in northern points of the MTA Metro-North Railroad network. Weather- related delays remain possible on all services and customers should consult www.mta.info before starting their morning commute.
Metro-North plans to operate a Saturday service, which is about 40% of normal weekday service. However, service is subject to change depending on conditions north of Croton-Harmon on the Hudson Line, north of North White Plains on the Harlem Line, and north of Stamford on the New Haven Line. The first trains operating from those terminals will be diesels to ensure they can plow through any accumulated snow. Off-peak fares will be charged.
