Frannie's Goodie Shop Expands to Ridge Hill

Mount Kisco's Frannie's Goodie Shop announced that it held a grand opening on Thursday for an expansion location at Ridge Hill in Yonkers.

The Ridge Hill site, which has been open since June, is 2,600 square feet and is the third and largest location for Frannie's. The first opened more than two years ago in Mount Kisco while the second, called YoArt Frozen Yogurt Boutique, opened at the Plaza Hotel in New York City last year.

Frannie's Goodie Shop is owned by Frannie and Isi Albanese, who also own Bellizzi, the pizza place down the street from the Mount Kisco site.

"Ridge Hill is the perfect location for this expanded version of our shop,” Frannie Albanese said in a press release for the opening. “We have created a place where people young and old can experience the joy of creating their own masterpiece. It's a place where you can go to feel like a kid again."

Several officials who represent Yonkers were on hand for the Ridge Hill site opening, according to an announcement. They included Mayor Mike Spano, state senators George Latimer and Andrea Stewart-Cousins, state Assemblywoman Shelley Mayer, City Council President Chuck Lesnick, Police Commissioner Charles Gardner, and council members Michael Sabatino and Christopher Johnson.

“Another great business is opening its doors in Yonkers,” Spano said in the press release. “We welcome Frannie’s Goodie Shop to Ridge Hill and wish them much success as they contribute to the economic vitality of Yonkers.”

Frannie's has an array of treats at Ridge Hills, it announced. They include soft-serve gelato, soft-serve ice cream, crepes, shakes, coffee, baked goods and a candy store.

Kathy Welch, who is an executive vice president with Ridge Hill owner Forest City Ratner Companies, said in the opening announcement, “We are delighted to welcome Frannie’s to Ridge Hill. Along with the delicious sweets and treats that are so popular with our customers, Frannie’s gives back to the community with their generous charitable contribution program. We are gratified that Frannie and Isi selected Ridge Hill for their third location.”

From now until December, Frannie's will also be donating one percent of its frozen yogurt sales to Yonkers Partners In Education (YPIE), a group that helps improve college attendance rates.

“We are thrilled that Frannie’s has chosen YPIE for their philanthropy as they open doors in Yonkers,” Wendy Nadel, the executive director of YPIE, said in the press release. “YPIE serves thousands of students throughout the Yonkers community as they pursue their dreams of college, and it’s wonderful that Frannie’s is supporting this important work.”
