New Castle Tree Lighting is Town Focal Point

Annual tree lighting in downtown Chappaqua included concert and first-ever downtown stroll for merchants.

Downtown Chappaqua enjoyed high turnout Saturday, as onlookers gathered in front of the Horace Greeley House on King Street for the New Castle Historical Society's annual Christmas tree lighting.

The lighting, which immediately follow a student performance from Horace Greeley High School's madrigal choir, was a focal point for town, and the last of several major community events in the day.

Earlier in the afternoon, the Chappaqua-Millwood Chamber of Commerce held its first-ever Holiday Stroll, which included candles displayed along downtown sidewalks and a large ice sculpture placed in front of Desires By Mikolay, which sponsored the event.
