Castelli, Astorino, Call for Auditing MTA

Will hold announcement Friday afternoon

Assemblyman Robert Castelli (R-Goldens Bridge) and Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino (R-Mount Pleasant) will call for an audit of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Friday afternoon, Castelli's office announced Thursday.

The audit demand will take place at 1:15 p.m., when the two elected officials will sign a letter to State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli. According to the announcement, the event will be at the Westchester County office building in White Plains, and the two will be joined by assemblymen Greg Ball (R-Patterson) and Marc Molinaro (R-Red Hook). Castelli and Ball have been criticizing the MTA as of late. Last month the two of the them joined with State Senator Vincent Leibell (R-Patterson) at a protest in Yorktown that called for abolishing the authority's payroll tax.
