Sandy Status: Mt. Kisco Recovering, NWH a Priority

Village Manager gives update on what's going on.

Major roads in Mount Kisco are open, while work on back roads continues, Village Manager James Palmer confirmed in an email Tuesday afternoon. Meanwhile, restoring power to Northern Westchester Hospital, which is on a generator, is a major priority. The Mount Kisco Public Library is also open and with WiFi. Below is Palmer's update email, with italics added for emphasis:

After prioritizing areas last evening with our Con Ed liaison, the DPW continues to team up with our Con Ed crew in the Village to restore access to secondary roads and make them safe.   All primary roads became accessible early this morning.

Con Ed is also concurrently assessing the damage with us so that we may prioritize restoration efforts.  Restoring power to NWH (still running on a generator)  is a priority as is restoring power to pump stations also operating on generators.
