Schools Reopen for 2013

Today, Jan. 2, 2013, marks a return to normal business locally.

1. Local school districts, including Chappaqua and Bedford Central, reopen for classes today after a week and a half of holiday vacation time.

2. New Castle's Town Board holds its annual organizational meeting tonight, 8 p.m., at town hall in Chappaqua. Click here to search for the agenda.

3. The New Castle Town Board, at its meeting, is also expected to appoint an interim successor for outgoing Town Justice David Zuckerman, who is becoming a county judge. The appointment will last from Jan. 2, 2013 until Dec. 31, 2013.

4. The Chappaqua Library will have an open book discussion on Thursday at 7 p.m. The talk will focus around author Henry James' The Portrait of a Lady. Click here for details. 

5. The Mount Kisco Public Library is hosting Conciones Con Abuelita, a Spanish-language story time, starting at 4 p.m. Click here for details.
