Mount Kisco Police Dept. Joins Nixle

Mount Kisco is the latest among several northern Westchester communities to use the online alerts service.

Mount Kisco's Police Department has started using the Nixle emergency alerts system, joining police in several neighboring towns.

The village announced the change on Monday.

"The Village/Town of Mount Kisco Police Department is launching a new Community Information Service designed to deliver important and timely information to residents in our area using the latest technology," reads an online announcement. "This service, created by Nixle, LLC delivers trustworthy and important neighborhood-level public safety and community event notification by web, email, and cell phone. Nixle is completely simple, trusted and available at no cost."

Mount Kisco Police made the first recorded entry three weeks and six days ago to announce the village's winter on-street parking bans. 

Several communities in northern Westchester have adopted Nixle for town and police usage, including New Castle, Bedford and North Castle.
