Chappaqua: After-School Events Canceled

School district readies for nor'easter just one day after reopening from aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

After-school activities in the Chappaqua school district have been canceled for Wednesday as a nor'easter is forecasted to hit the region.

David Hayes, the district's public information officer, confirmed the decision, which also impacts evening activities such as the Chappaqua Continuing Education program.

The district has not yet made a decision for what to do on Thursday, he explained.

The forecasted nor'easter comes just one day after Chappaqua students returned to their classes after missing more than a week of school due to damage in town from Hurricane Sandy.
