Chappaqua Schools to Hold Makeup Day

Due to Hurricane Sandy and Wednesday's snow day, the Chappaqua school district will have to remove a day off and use it as a school day.

Students in Chappaqua's schools will have one less day off next month, the district announced, in order to make up for lost class time as a result of Wednesday's snow day.

Feb. 20, which was previously scheduled as a day off for students, was listed on the school's website as an instructional day. This is because the district exhausted all of its allotted snow days last fall due to the destructive aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

If any more snow days need to be taken, the district stated, the next days off to be used as makeup dates would be Feb. 19, March 25 and March 26.
