Tribou Confirms Suspension, Declines to Give Details

Longtime Horace Greeley football coach and gym teacher confirms reason for his absence.

varsity football Coach Bill Tribou confirmed Thursday that he has been suspended, the reason for his absence from campus of roughly two weeks.

"I have been suspended," he said.

When asked why, Tribou said he cannot talk about it. He also explained that it is on the advice of his attorney. The Chappaqua school district has also instructed him not to talk about it, he explained.

Tribou's absence in recent weeks among his players, parents and Greeley alumni, who have demanded his reinstatement. The school board and administrators have declined to comment on his status because they can't due to the nature of it involving personnel.

In the meantime, the Greeley officials announced that the football team is set to continue its routine spring workouts without him.
