New Year, New Team at Greeley

In a packed gym, the students of started off the 2012-13 school year Wednesday morning

"Are you guys ready to rule this school?!" said Tim Bloom, the student council president for the year, asking this year's seniors. Students for the Class of 2013 made their presence known, with senior-specific T-shirts and vehicle paint. 

Bloom also took time to address each grade, sharing light-hearted opinion about what they will go through.

"What you make of it is entirely up to you," he told newly minted freshmen of the Greeley experience.

Greeley opened its doors as school was due to start again Wednesday throughout the Chappaqua school district.

The new year marks the arrival of a new team for Greeley. The school will be led by a new principal, Robert Rhodes, who comes to Chappaqua from Millennium High School in New York City. Rhodes addressed the students on issues that one would expect administrators to touch on, such as cell phone usage, scheduling and what drinks can be brought into the library. The new principal, as well as some of the students, came sporting a blue and orange striped ties, which are Greeley's colors.

Also new to the team is Interim Assistant Principal Andrew Corsilia, who took over for Mark Bayer after he left to become principal of Somers High School. Another new face - but at the same time an old - is Interim Athletic Director Peter Kuczma, who served in the position for years until he left in 2002. He is filling in after Athletic Director Steve Young left to take a similar job in New Rochelle.
