Roaring Brook School to Reopen Thursday; Alternate Bus Stops Remain

Power was restored Wednesday afternoon, according to superintendent.

Students at Roaring Brook Elementary School will be back in their regular classes Thursday, with power having been restored.

The power came back on around 1-1:30 p.m., according to Superintendent Lyn McKay.

Roaring Brook students, along with faculty and specialist staff, had to relocate to Douglas G. Grafflin Elementary School for Wednesday classes while their building was still dark, the result of this past weekend's October snow storm. All schools had been closed on Monday and Tuesday.

McKay praised Grafflin and Roaring Brook staff for how they handled the situation, which included having kids and teachers from both schools paired by class level. This also included members of the Grafflin community putting out a welcome banner for their Roaring Brook district neighbors.

"The students were terrific today," she said.
