School Board Meetings Cancelled Due to Snow

Chappaqua, Bedford school officials cite the weather. Also, affordable housing talk has been postponed.

With a snow storm forecasted, the Chappaqua and Bedford Central school districts announced that they have canceled their board of education meetings for tonight.

Chappaqua's meeting was supposed to have included a detailed presentation on the curriculum and technology aspects of the district's proposed 2013-14 budget. The curriculum part of the presentation has been postponed to March 13, while the technology part has been delayed to March 20, the district announced.

Bedford's school board meeting was to have included a timeline update on the district's proposed capital plan, a nearly $31 million of major construction projects. A presentation of the state of the district's operations was also slated for the meeting.

Forecasts from the National Weather Service give blustery weather for tonight, with gusts that could get as high as 33 miles per hour in the area. Snow of 1-2 inches is forecasted for tonight.

In addition, an affordable housing forum in Bedford Hills - it's co-sponsored by New Castle - has been postponed for May 1.
