Today: Chappaqua Budget Sessions at 7 Bridges

Chappaqua PTA will support information sessions on the proposed 2013-14 budget ahead of May 21 public vote.

The Chappaqua PTA will sponsor two information sessions today that will be about the proposed 2013-14 school budget.

The sessions will each be held at Seven Bridges Middle School, in its lower commons. The first will be at 9:30 a.m. while the second will be held at 7:30 p.m.

The proposed budget is $114,828,088 and will have a 2.34-percent spending increase. The proposed tax levy, which represents the total amount of tax revenue to be collected, would rise by 2.06. Although there is a state-mandated tax levy cap of 2 percent, the budget complies because of various exemptions that are included.
