Temple Beth El Organizes Haitian Relief

Temple is organizing donations for supplies

Temple Beth El of Northern Westchester is organizing a supply donation effort in conjunction with the Afya Foundation up until Jan. 31. Supplies requested include sleeping bags, gauze, towels, sheets, topic antiseptic and clothing.

People are invited to come to the temple this Sunday between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to help sort and load the donated items before they are transported to Afya's facility in Yonkers.

"The turmoil and humanitarian crisis in Haiti will not be easily solved," said the Temple Beth El Tikkun Olam Council in a statement on its Web site. "Our efforts, however, will help those who have suffered. We pray that our efforts and the efforts of other contributors will also bring hope to the Haitian people."
