Christmas Tree Lightings; Conifer Update; Chappaqua Crossing Review

1. There will be several local Christmas tree lightings this week, according to announcements. On Wednesday at 6 p.m., Mount Kisco's Holiday Inn will host the Tree of Life ceremony, which is a fundraiser for Hospice Care in Westchester & Putnam. On Friday, Mount Kisco will have its event at 6 p.m. next to village hall. On Saturday at 5 p.m., there will be a Christmas tree lighting at the New Castle Historical Society's premises in downtown Chappaqua.

2. At a work session on Tuesday, the New Castle Town Board will get an update on the status of Conifer Realty's Chappaqua Station affordable housing plan, according to the agenda. Conifer, which received town board approval in September for a special permit, has several conditions that it must meet, according to a memo from Town Planner Sabrina Charney Hull. 3. The New Castle Planning Board will discuss the latest retail plan for Chappaqua Crossing in a Tuesday work session, according to the meeting's agenda; the meeting starts at 7 p.m. at town hall. The work session is because of a town board vote to refer the project to the planning board. The latest plan, submitted in November, has a 40,000-square-foot Whole Foods.

4. Fox Lane Middle School will host a group of eight authors on Thursday in connection with its book fair, according to this announcement. More details are at this link.

5. Charis Chamber Voices will have two performances this coming weekend, according to this announcement, which will be on Saturday at the Presbyterian Church of Mount Kisco and Sunday at the Bedford Presbyterian Church.
